Xpeng Enters Singapore Market with G6 Pre-Sales and Pop-Up Store Opening
Chinese electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer Xpeng has announced its entry into the Singapore automotive market as part of its broader expansion strategy in international markets. On July 25, Xpeng officially launched in Singapore with the opening of a pop-up store located in the heart of the central business district at UOB Plaza, as detailed in a Weibo post by the company.
Visitors to the pop-up showroom can experience and test drive the Xpeng G6 SUV, a sport utility vehicle designed to compete with Tesla’s Model Y. Xpeng has initiated pre-sales in Singapore and is offering exclusive privileges during the pre-sale period, along with special discounts for UOB customers.
Xpeng’s first official store in Singapore is scheduled to open in September. Although the Weibo post does not provide additional details, according to the company’s English-language press releases, Xpeng is entering the local market in partnership with Singaporean distributor Premium Automobiles.
“We are thrilled to introduce XPENG to Singapore,” said Lee Hoe Lone, Managing Director of Premium Automobiles. “As a global leader in smart electric vehicles, we are committed to bringing cutting-edge technology to the market.”
The Xpeng G6 was launched in China on June 29, 2023, with deliveries beginning in early July of the same year. On May 8, Xpeng announced a partnership with Australian dealer TrueEV, which will introduce the G6 to the Australian market in the fourth quarter of this year.
Xpeng also launched the G6 and another SUV, the G9, in France on May 16. Earlier this month, the G6 made its UK debut at the prestigious Goodwood Festival of Speed 2024.
On July 19, Xpeng opened its first showroom in Hong Kong, with plans to start delivering the first G6s there in the third quarter of this year.
