Chinese new energy vehicle (NEV) manufacturer, BYD, has expanded its lineup in Thailand with the introduction of the Sealion 6 DM-i, a hybrid SUV. This marks the company’s fourth model in the Thai market and its first hybrid offering. The launch took place on August 8th at BYD’s passenger vehicle production facility in Rayong, Thailand, as announced in a recent press release.

Sealion 6 DM-i: Key Details

  • Price: Starting at 939,900 baht ($26,660).
  • Chinese Name: Known as the Song Plus DM-i.
  • Launch Date in China: The 2025 model was introduced on July 25th at a starting price of RMB 135,800 ($18,950).

Investment and Partnership

  • The company has partnered with local dealer, Rever Automotive, and acquired a 20% stake in the firm following an agreement signed on July 6th.
