Zeekr Launches 2025 Model Year 001 Amid Customer Concerns
August 13, 2024 — Zeekr unveiled the 2025 model year Zeekr 001 during its Evolution New Generation press conference, alongside the 2025 model 007. This marks the third significant update to the 001 in less than a year, sparking customer dissatisfaction.
Overview
Zeekr had previously launched a new version of the 001 in February 2024, leading to discontent among recent buyers. The 2025 model focuses primarily on enhancements to its intelligent driving capabilities.
Intelligent Driving System
The 2025 Zeekr 001 adopts the Haohan Intelligent Driving 2.0 system, featuring a dual Nvidia Orin X chipset with 508 TOPS computing power, replacing the previous Mobileye-based system. Key upgrades include:
- Ultra-long-range LiDAR: Offers 200 meters of range and a 120-degree ultra-wide horizontal field of view.
- Scene Cognition Large Model (SCM): Improves target recognition with 1000 new traffic scenarios and 120% increased accuracy.
- Interactive Planning Large Model (IPM): Mimics human driving strategies, predicts surrounding vehicle and pedestrian behavior 1.2 seconds ahead, with 21% improved accuracy.
Fingertip-Controlled Parking
A new parking feature allows users to draw a temporary parking space and guide the car into it via the Zeekr app or the car’s interface.
Zeekr OS AI
The 2025 model integrates the Zeekr OS AI, leveraging advanced machine learning for improved voice control and proactive assistance.
Powertrain and Design
The exterior design and powertrain remain unchanged from the 2024 model. However, two new color options are available. The 100 kWh Qilin battery from CATL provides a maximum range of 750 km, while the 95 kWh Shenxing battery supports ultra-fast charging.
Future Upgrades
The intelligent driving system will undergo further enhancements, aiming for door-to-door capability by Q1 2025.
Controversy
Customers who purchased the February 2024 model express frustration over the rapid succession of updates. Zeekr CEO, An Conghui, acknowledged the lack of communication and pledged to improve transparency in future releases.
